Lavender, Dots & Pearls

It may have said a barbecue on paper, but I turned it into a barbecute. Instead of wearing blue jeans to a BBQ, I chose to wear these lavender jeans with a polka dot print. I accessorized the look with 360 pearl studs from Go Jane (only $5.50!), and my lavender Kate Spade purse with its scalloped edges adds a cute, feminine touch to the outfit.  

FYI, my heels did not slow me down, I kicked butt in most of the games. So tell me, what do you like to wear to a BBQ?

Funky Tartan

Hello all! I'm finding it hard to wear a traditional corporate outfit to work while in these hot temps, so I paired this black and white tartan midi skirt with this sheer sleeveless top. The pop of green and the clutch add a funky summer feel to this look. This is a look that "The Man" and your wallet would approve of, especially since the skirt is only $15.80!!

The Look for Less: B&W Grid Lines

When I saw Olivia Palermo in this ZARA ensemble, I was inspired to recreate the look. While Olivia is a pro at mixing high and low pieces, Trendee Parsimony is all about the low (hence the name wink, wink). So how low can I go... my outfit total is under $100!

Sky Blue Summer Layers

I like to think of bad weather as fashion opportunities. So what's the best way to combat gray skies, humidity and wind in the middle of summer ... a sky blue ensemble consisting of layered summer pieces.

In this look, I am wearing a white eyelet dress under a sky blue sleeveless paneled top, belted with a brown and white lace belt, and topped off with a denim jacket. The heels are from ASOS and they're on sale right now for $47.62 (students can get an additional discount of 10% off).

Celebrating the 4th of July in Tomato Red

Happy 4th of July everyone!! I hope you all are having a great holiday. Today I wore a top in a fiery tomato red color, red and navy nautical shorts and white heels. I guess it was too hot to handle cause the fire truck came by (I'm joking but a fire truck really came by and there was no fire).  Anyways, the best part of the day so far, eating a rack of Jack Daniels BBQ ribs.

Denim Pinafore Dress with Stars and Stripes
